The Mysterious Affair at Styles

Everyone loves a good mystery now and then. While I'm not a huge fan, there is something delicious about Agatha Christie mysteries even if you have to wait until literally the last page to find out how the whole things unravels. I had never read any of the Hercule Poirot books, so I thought that I should start at the beginning of the series.
Set in England during the Great War, a wounded Mr. Hastings is sent to recover in the English countryside at the estate of an old friend. While he is there, the elderly mistress of the house is mysteriously found dead during the night. At Hastings’ insistence, the family calls upon the renowned Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot to expose the culprit. In his usual elegant and sophisticated manner, Poirot untangles a seemingly impossible and surprising web which will have the reader guessing until the very last!
